Implementation of Legal Metrology in the regions is a form of public service that must be held accountable.
The Central Government through the Ministry of Trade encourages the regions to carry out Innovative, quality and sustainable Measuring, Dosing, Weighing and Equipment (UTTP) and Legal Metrology Monitoring Services activities because these activities cannot be stopped in just one or two years.
The use of UTTP in determining sizes, measurements and weights is very important because it has an impact on income or profits in buying and selling transactions.
In practice in the field, it does not rule out the possibility of violations or fraud in the use of the UTTP.Therefore Optimization of Calibration/Recalibration Services and Legal Metrology Supervision leads to the realization of Orderly Measuring Areas that are able to provide protection to the public in terms of the use of Measuring, Measuring, Weighing Instruments and Equipment (UTTP), Packaged Goods (BDKT) and Units of Measure .
To realize the Orderly Measurement Area there are assessments related to Management, Technical and Service Innovation.
GOTERA as a strategy for optimizing Calibration/Recalibration Services and Legal Metrology Supervision is very important to implement, especially in Makassar City in accordance with the mandate of the Law.
